The Great Lakes provide some of the best multi-species fishing in the world.   Anglers can find a variety of warm and cold water species throughout the year. Aside from your standard boat or on shore fishing; kayaks are a great way to catch these fish. Their stealth and versatility make great platforms for catching fish. In addition to their effectiveness, kayaks are economocial and enviromentally friendly.

Once the ice melts in spring, big brown trout roam from the harbors, beaches and river mouths looking for a meal. This is one of the easiest times of year to catch brown trout and steelhead. Just pack up a couple of rods and some stickbaits! Soon after the brown trout bite, salmon show up near shore providing a great fight and terrific table fair.
Throughout the summer, trout and salmon can still be found off shore along with bass, pike and perch in and around the harbors.
In late August and September Chinook salmon begin staging around the harbors and river mouths. Be careful! These fish will drag a kayaker great distances.
In the fall brown trout stack up in the harbors looking to spawn. Stick baits, tube jigs and spawn are very effective at this time of year and will potiently catch their share of steelhead.

The purpose of this site is to promote the sport of kayak fishing and to teach anglers techniques to catch more fish.
